Our Evolution
In a landmark move for the region's urban development, the Government of Maharashtra announced the upgradation of the Jalna Municipal Council to a Municipal Corporation in June 2023. This transition officially took effect on August 7, 2023, marking a new era of growth and enhanced administrative capabilities for Jalna.

Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Utilities
Ensuring reliable water supply, efficient sewerage systems, modern street lighting, and the ongoing maintenance of the city's road network to facilitate smooth transport and safety.
Public Health & Sanitation
Managing solid waste, maintaining city cleanliness, and providing essential public health services to ensure a hygienic living environment for all residents.
Urban Planning & Development
Implementing state and central government schemes, managing public spaces like parks and community centers, and overseeing the planned expansion of the city across its 81.6 square kilometers.
Citizen Services
Providing seamless access to administrative services including birth and death registration, marriage certificates, trade licenses, and property tax management through digital and physical channels.
Administration
JCMC is governed by elected representatives committed to the city's progress, supported by a professional administrative wing headed by the Municipal Commissioner. The corporation is divided into 16 electoral wards (Prabhag) to ensure localized governance and effective service delivery at the grassroots level.
